The Hiker’s Guide: Top Coastal Trails for Your March Adventure

With the countryside in full bloom and the sun remaining mild, it is the perfect time to explore the rugged coastline of Northern Malta.Unlike the summer months, March provides the cool breeze necessary for long distance walking. The trails are firm and the air is clear, offering excellent visibility for those who want to see across the channel to Gozo or Comino.

Top Coastal Routes to Explore

  • Mistra Bay to Selmun: This path takes you along high ridges with panoramic sea views. You will pass historic knight-era fortifications and quiet coves.

  • The Victoria Lines: Often called the Great Wall of Malta, these 19th-century fortifications span the width of the island. Walking here in March means being surrounded by blooming wild fennel and clover.

  • Qawra Promenade: For a more relaxed pace, the promenade offers a flat, scenic walk along the water, perfect for catching the morning sun.

Easy Access to Trails

Staying at a well-connected base like Bella Vista makes reaching these start points simple. With a bus stop located directly outside our main entrance, you can reach major hiking spots in the north within minutes. You do not need a car to access the most scenic parts of the island.

What to Bring on Your March Hike:
